Regular Activities

MUSIC MAKERS

This is a relaxed session on Sunday afternoons for local musicians and vocalists to come together and make music. All musical styles are welcome, there is no need to book, just pitch up with your instrument.  We are always looking for new/undiscovered talent so give it a go. There are no restrictions on age, young or old though we are very keen to encourage younger members of the Village to join and gain confidence playing in a group. For more information please feel free to contact Peter Sach on 01326- 240852 or email Peter as follows: peter_sach@icloud.com
We make a very modest charge per session per musician to cover hire costs of the hall.

ST MELLANUS SINGERS
The St Mellanus Singers have been going for over 30 years.  We are a community SATB choir and we do hope that most singers can read music to a certain extent.  There is no audition to join, but obviously if you can't sing we would tell you!

We sing a very wide variety of music ranging from Stainer's Crucifixion on Good Friday, leading the singing every year at the turning on of the Christmas lights in the village, singing Cornish songs down in Mullion Cove every Friday in August and getting concerts together to raise money for charity.  For example we performed a concert recently on the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine where we raised over £200 for the Disasters Emergency Committee.

Members are asked to pay a small annual subscription (c £30) to cover the costs of the hall, to pay accompanists and to buy new music.

Rehearsals only last an hour and in that time we do work quite hard - but we have a lot of fun and laughter too.  Currently we have about 25 members. For more information contact Mary Cooper Brown on 01326 240832 or email mcooperbrown@gmail.com

TUESDAYS – PILATES CLASSES

Three Pilates classes are run in the Village Hall most Tuesdays. The teacher is Lynn Wise and her classes are as follows:

9.30 -10.30 Intermediate/Advanced

This is a fast paced, challenging mat class working towards advanced Pilates exercises.

This class is designed to build bone and muscle strength and enhance mobility and balance.
